The very first sight I saw the mask charm, I knew that it must has some connection with China, the mystery oriental country with long culture. The mask is very typical in Beijing Opera, which is an essence of Chinese culture.
Made from white gold, rubies and yellow sapphire, the charm impresses me with luxury and noble. Just as the Chinese opera mask goes, the charm features a main tote of black and white, only that the rouge is replaced by rubies. The fine craftsmanship gives a clear shape of the Chinese face, except that the facial expression still leaves something to be improved. Frankly speaking, I think that the back view of the charm is more like a mask in opera. This piece of jewelry comes with a mini-trunk in mini Monogram canvas manufactured in Louis Vuitton workshops. Apparently, it is a Chinese charm, but what is the originality behind it? Later I found out that the charm is created for the opening of the Louis Vuitton Landmark store in Hong Kong in December 2005.
