Hip the Luxury-Kanye West and Monogramouflage Keepall 55

Who said designer bags is just for female and sissy boy? Kanye West took part in the LV men's runway show in Paris with his Louis Vuitton Monogramouflage Keepall 55. Well he is one of those men who are not shy to show off their love for designer brands which then lead to the creation of his sneaker collaboration with Louis Vuitton.

hip-the-luxury-kanye-west-and-monogramouflage-keepall-55He looks stylish in his self-designed red kicks for Louis Vuitton, complemented with the all the rage scarf fashion in red topped over a black suit with white inside tee and a rugged denim. The Takashi Murakami -collaborated Monogramouflage Keepall 55 doesn't harmonize with his total look, although this guarantees to keep everything he needs to bring for a day and so.

The bag is sized at about 9.4 x 12.2 x 21.6 inches and is covered in Monogramouflage canvas with vachetta or natural cowhide leather trim. It also has the black jute canvas bands, surrounding the whole bag for a tough manly look. It also has the address tag with the words, "Monogramoflage, Limited Edition, Takashi Murakami, Louis Vuitton".
I'm not sure if this bag is still available since it is indeed a Limited Edition bag, but the pricing goes about $2,000.

Have All, Keep All-Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson with Louis Vuitton Keepall

For those who have already owned everything, designer bags are certainly their choice.Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson have landed from the airport along with nothing but a very luxurious Louis Vuitton Keepall. I'm not sure though who truly owns that versatile and a rather large LV luggage, but since Lindsay has the penchant for designer bags, perhaps it's hers and Sam is just being courtly on carrying that heavy piece.

Seventy Thousands Euro for a Louis Vuitton Tattooed Pig

Recently, some luxury fashion design houses eager to benefit from certain animals. After the debut of Gucci dog waistcoat and Hermes cat hat, there comes the pig. The Belgian artist Wim Delvoye, who has been tattooing pigs since the 1990s, set up a tattooed pig project in the Art Farm in China.

Among the eight tattooed pigs on his exhibition, two are engraved with Louis Vuitton Monogram. Although the pigs enjoy a high treatment, being purchased insurance and applied thick sun cream, not to mention their special food, they are to pay for all these finally, in time they will be flayed for sell. And the price is shockingly high-seventy thousands euro each piece.

As I see it, it is really absurd. Art as it may be, I can't agree that it neglect publicly the strictures regarding animal welfare. How could they do this while crying for human right? Hopefully fashioners will refuse to purchase this kind of fashion products.

The world has changed, but not for Louis Vuitton. In its 2009 spring and summer collection, we are bored again by so many familiar faces-same old design and of course same old monogram. Louis Vuitton Oriental Mask Charm

The very first sight I saw the mask charm, I knew that it must has some connection with China, the mystery oriental country with long culture. The mask is very typical in Beijing Opera, which is an essence of Chinese culture.

Made from white gold, rubies and yellow sapphire, the charm impresses me with luxury and noble. Just as the Chinese opera mask goes, the charm features a main tote of black and white, only that the rouge is replaced by rubies. Louis Vuitton Passion--What Wrong with Louis Vuitton?

This Valentine's Day Louis Vuitton's jewellery collection "Passion" is really disappointing. Even though it seems romantic and luxurious to others, I consider it vulgar and dull. The four pieces collection, including a heart link bracelet, a necklace with gold-colored hearts strong on a rich red ribbon, clip earrings and a ring was mean to bearing the message of forever love, but it turned out to cause the opposite effect.

The collection prized more then $1200 in such downturn of economy, and it is nothing but a merely pile of heart shapes. More ironically, the collection is dubbed "PASSION", a strong satire of the omnipresent instant love. As I see it, true love lies in the bottom of heart, and it shouldn't be too barefaced. I am not cynical toward everything. I actually love the conventional Louis Vuitton design which is like implicative noble. It is ok if the younger Gucci used all those heart shaped items for it is its vigorous style. Yes, everything is changing fast nowadays, and it is especially true with fashion. But you still have to stick to your convention.

Clamate Change is an inevitable problem both for ourselves or our children. It should be taken into consideration for everyone in the world. Louis Vuitton North America announced that 15% of all sales made through their online store would be donated to The Climate Project. Louis Vuitton has been actively pursuing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and overall impact on the environment over the past few years. Q:With so many organizations to choose from, what was the appeal in partnering with The Climate Project?
The Climate Project has made great strides in educating people all over the world about climate change and the solutions that will be necessary to solve the crisis. Louis Vuitton is a company steeped in the tradition of transmitting heritage, and has always has a special interest in sustainable development. In recent years, Louis Vuitton has concentrated its efforts on reducing its Carbon Footprint, because as a result of our geographic expansion and of our business model, we have realized that air transportation of products is the primary source of our greenhouse gas emissions. The company now favors transport of products by ship, far mre environmentally friendly than transport by air (as of today, 60% of all leather goods are transported by ship).

Q:We read that Louis Vuitton has made efforts to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment. What have you done to decrease the company's carbon footprint?
We implemented the Carbon Inventory in 2004. This Inventory has allowed us to accurately measure the impact of our activities on the environment. Since then we have been efficient in modifying our organization and reducing our carbon dioxide emissions. Moreover, this initiative has raised environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility of staff members throughout the company. To name a few examples, we have:
Reviewed transportation methods of products (use of sea, river and
Rail wherever and whenever possible)
Reviewed packaging (use of eco-labelled paper for all packaging)
Reviewed store energy consumption (all new stores consume 30% less energy due to new lighting concept)
Reviewed all environmental friendly actions at Louis Vuitton headquarters (which has received the ISO 14001 certification in Octobern 2008)
Created green buildings (Louis Vuitton central warehouse in Cergy, France (2007); Louis Vuitton Shoes Workshop in Fiesso, Italy (2009)…)
Created an internal "Environment Task Force" worldwide to exchange best practices between different regions and countries

Q:What are your immediate expectations with your partnership with TCP, and do you foresee these types of collaborations extending into the rest of the fashion industry?
Environmental sustainability concerns all of us. The luxury industry, which is synonymous with beauty and excellence, must strive even harder than others to be exemplary in preservation of the environment. As a leader in luxury, Louis Vuitton has the responsibility to intensify its efforts to reduce its environmental impact of its activities, and also to raise awareness by encouraging a collective commitment both inside and outside the company. Partnering with The Climate Project, known worldwide for its actions and its achievements, enables us to promote awareness of the climate change and what can be done to help.

Q:Can we expect to see any eco-friendly pieces by Louis Vuitton, namely a handbag?
We are focusing on the most important and urgent matter, which is to reduce energy consumption, resulted from transportation and other activities. Ecological products are not a priority in this sense how ever new eco-friendly materials are constantly proposed as an alternative.

Here Comes Cute China-Monogram Panda From Louis Vuitton

After creating the Monogram Cerises line along with Marc Jacobs, his creative talent gave birth to the new Monogram Panda line of bags and accessories. Don't be fooled, this series is not new. Murakami released limited editions of monogram bags with Pandas and other characters a few years ago. However, the limited eds were only available in Japan. The line then included a variety of bags featuring the Panda, including the round coin pouch, agenda, billfold, the vavin and others.

To me, the Panda looks a little freakish. Not to mention, it might be cute on a different backdrop, but on the classic monogram…? More than questionable. But as long as it sells and the Vuitton fanbase is not revolting, Murakami must be doing something right. As about only online store

In April, 2008, Louis Vuitton realized a brand new series of brand core value ad, not for promoting new products but to reestablish its image. According to it, the originality and image of Louis Vuitton is TRAVEL.

The invitations were sent to Catherine Deneuve, the French movie queen, Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev, the former president of Soviet Union and some others. In the picture, Catherine is sitting quietly and lonely on his large Louis Vuitton suitcases in an old train station with the caption, "sometimes, home is just a feeling". Yes, we leave home to go all over the world for wealth, for experience, but we never leave home far mentally. We travel all the life, but home is the place we can always go back.

Battered Luxury Brands Eye Chinese Market For Growth

While the developed world tighten their belts and focus spending on daily necessities, the big luxury companies are looking to China's new rich to buy their jewelry, clothes and bags.

The Chinese market shows remarkable resilience in the financial crisis because it has an increasing number of people able and willing to buy luxury goods, says Guo.

"Unlike the mature traditional markets, demand in China is far from saturated either materially or psychologically."

The high-end market, which was once believed to be immune from economic downturn, has seen weakening sales growth or even declines in the traditional markets of the United States, Europe and Japan, analysts say.

090414-tommy-battered-luxury-brands-eye-chinese-market-for-growthA study by the Bain & Company consultants in October predicted global luxury goods sales growth would slow sharply to 3 percent to hit 175 billion euros (220 billion dollars) in 2008. The slower growth rate stood in sharp contrast with 6.5 percent in 2007 and 9percent growth in 2006.

The study also forecast the luxury sector would face its first recession in six years in 2009, with sales declining by up to 7 percent.

A report from Deutsche Bank says the market will contract 5 to 10 percent in 2009.

However, experts say the Chinese luxury goods market remains resilient.

An estimated 415,000 Chinese had more than 1 million U.S. dollars in disposable assets in 2007, more than any other country, according to the Merrill-Lynch Asia-Pacific Wealth Report released in September.

"The spending power in China is spectacular", says Daisy Moon, assistant PR manager of Tiffany & Co. China, which achieved its sales targets last year and seems little affected by the financial crisis.

A Gucci spokesman said in an e-mail to Xinhua that China represented one of the most dynamic areas of retail growth for the firm, with 2008 sales growth in the mainland at 42 percent. The global profit for the company edged up 0.2 percent from a year ago.

Gucci had 25 stores in 17 Chinese cities as of January, when it opened three new stores. It is looking to open its Shanghai flagship store in May.

LVMH claims business profit was up 2.1 percent from a year earlier to 3.63 billion euros in 2008, but sales in the United States fell 4.03 percent and in Japan 5.16 percent last year. However, the group stressed in its annual report that performance in China was "solid" and strong.

Cartier, the French jeweler and watchmaker, is planning more stores in first and second-tier Chinese cities after posting double-digit growth in 2008.

Yan Jun, managing director of Beijing-based Ecole Fashion & Luxury Consulting Ltd., says the expanding middle class constitutes an important group of consumers who desire and can afford luxury goods.

"Aged between 25 and 40 and living in developed regions, they are fashionable, mature, and passionate about lifestyle and quality," he says.

Up to 170 million people, or 13 percent of the population, can afford luxury brands and the number will reach 250 million next year, according to the China Association of Branding Strategy.

The government aims to build "a well-off society" by 2020, with per capita GDP of 3,000 U.S. dollars. Developed regions, such as Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Suzhou and Wenzhou, with a total population of more than 300 million, will see per capita GDP exceed 15,000 U.S. dollars.

Bain & Company predicted the Chinese luxury market would see growth of 20 to 35 percent in the next five years. The Ministry of Commerce says China will become the world's largest luxury market by 2014, accounting for 23 percent of global business.

"It is almost certain that China has surpassed the United States to become the second largest luxury market after Japan. There is still a lot of room for development," says Yan Jun.

He believes the huge potential will definitely attract more brands.

"I am going to Italy to give a lecture about luxury management in China this June. I have been told a lot of executives of luxury companies will attend and they are eager to know more about the Chinese market and how to enter the market," says Yan.

"The Chinese market is so desirable that international luxury companies are speeding up their quest for a share."

Louis Vuitton at COMME des GARCONS, Merger of Oriental and Occidental Culture

Modern Fashion derives from Europe and North America but flourishes in Asia even in the economic downturn. Comme des Gar?ons which means "Like boys" in french is a japanese fashion company with more than 12 boutiques and around 200 vendors around the globe. Louis Vuitton, the fashion icon from French has collaborated with Comme des Garcons for a long time. But not until recently did the special brand "Louis Vuitton at COMME des GARCONS" come into the market.

Below is a light yellow card holder. It's handy, durable but has nothing special except the new logo. A little bit disappointed for me.

But the brown party bag is impressive. The collection is particularly designed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Louis Vuitton in Japan.
